As part of seminar "Helsinki +40 Process: Prospects for Strengthening the OSCE" organized jointly by the Russian International Affairs Council and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the OSCE PA members visited MGIMO-University to meet Russian undergraduates and postgraduates.

As part of seminar "Helsinki +40 Process: Prospects for Strengthening the OSCE" organized jointly by the Russian International Affairs Council and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the OSCE PA members visited MGIMO-University to meet Russian undergraduates and postgraduates.

The gathering was addressed by Joao SOARES, Chairman of the OSCE PA Ad Hoc Committee on Transparency and co-chair of "Helsinki+40" project; Spencer OLIVER, Secretary General of the OSCE PA; Ambassador Javier RUPEREZ, Chairman of the OSCE PA in 1996-1998; Göran LENNMARKER, Chairman of SIPRI and member of SIPRI Advisory Board on "Helsinki+40" project; Andreas NOTHELLE, Head the OSCE PA Liaison Office in Vienna; and Sinikukka Saari, Senior Research Fellow of the Finnish Institute of International Relations.

The speeches were followed by a Q&A session and a discussion, both in an open manner, on topicality of the Helsinki principles, Ukraine situation, relations between Russia and the West against the Ukraine backdrop, as well as the most burning related problems and their origin.
