On September 24, 2020, RIAC took part in the third online discussion on the challenges and prospects of relations between Russia and NATO, initiated by the European Leadership Network (ELN).

Experts from Russia and the EU, former politicians and diplomats took part in the discussion. RIAC was represented by Andrey Kortunov, RIAC General Director, Natalya Vyakhireva, RIAC Program Manager.

This discussion was organized within ELN "Go Big" project, RIAC being a partner. The project was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, when states, in addition to immediate healthcare challenges, face serious economic and political difficulties with implications for global security.

According to experts, at this time, in order to overcome the challenges, it is necessary to coordinate efforts at all levels, including Track II. Within the framework of the project, three working groups on certain matters have been established. The groups consist of representatives of the older, middle age and younger generations. The groups are elaborating ideas and proposals to overcome the current challenges. The project participants consider it necessary to ensure conditions for reducing security challenges and strengthening international cooperation in the fight against the pandemic and its consequences.
