On October 19, 2022, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) in cooperation with Integration and Development Organization and the Eurasian Expert Club held a roundtable titled “Promising Directions of the EAEU Development in the New Environment and New Opportunities for Collaboration with Other Partners in the Context of Their Transforming Foreign Economic Strategies.” The event was held in Yerevan prior to the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and was content-wise supported by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

Aram Safaryan, Associate Professor of Yerevan State University, Chairman of the Integration and Development NGO, Ksenia Kuzmina, RIAC Deputy Director of Programs, Gohar Barseghyan, Director of the Integration Development Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Timofey Bordachev, Academic Director of the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies, National Research University – Higher School of Economics, Program Director of the Valdai International Discussion Club and RIAC Member.

Closed-door discussion allowed Russian and Armenian experts to frankly exchange views on challenges and prospects for trade and economic cooperation both among the EAEU member states and with partners in Eurasia. Sergey Chernyshev, Assistant to the Eurasian Economic Commission Trade Minister, Ekaterina Mayorova, Director of Department of Trade Negotiations of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, Ashot Tavadyan, Professor, Head of the Center for Economic Research, Member of the Eurasian Expert Club, Andrey Tochin, Director of the Institute for the Development of Integration Processes of the Russian Foreign Trade Academy, Tatul Manaseryan, Professor, Head of the Alternative Research Center, Member of the Eurasian Expert Club, Yaroslav Lisovolik, Program Director of the Valdai International Discussion Club, RIAC Member and Viktor Larin, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Center for Global and Regional Studies of the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnology of the Peoples of the Far-East, Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, RIAC Member, took part in the deliberation. Elena Danilova, Deputy Director of the Integration Development Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission, moderated the discussion. Representatives of the Commission as well as of the embassies and trade missions of the member states also took part in the event.
