On March 15, 2016 the Valdai International Discussion Club and the European Council on Foreign Relations held in Moscow a meeting of the EU-Russia Strategy Group. The meeting, attended by experts, diplomats, former government officials, and journalists from EU countries and Russia, discussed the current relations between Russia and the EU, the issues of mutual perception, the prospects for overcoming the ongoing crisis in Russian-European relations and for cooperation between Moscow and Brussels in the Middle East and other regions of the world.

The meeting, attended by experts, diplomats, former government officials, and journalists from EU countries and Russia, discussed the current relations between Russia and the EU, the issues of mutual perception, the prospects for overcoming the ongoing crisis in Russian-European relations and for cooperation between Moscow and Brussels in the Middle East and other regions of the world.

The Russian speakers at the meeting included RIAC members Alexandr Aksenenok, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia; RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov; Fyodor Lukyanov, Editor-in-Chief of Russia in Global Affairs, Сhairman of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy; Alexey Meshkov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary; as well as a number of experts of the Russian International Affairs Council.
