RIAC hosted a meeting between Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, and Tadaatsu Mori, Director of Russian Division, Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On August 2, 2017, RIAC hosted a meeting between Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, and Tadaatsu Mori, Director of Russian Division, Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The sides exchanged opinions on the pending issues of international relations. Special emphasis was given to the state of Russia-the U.S. contacts, the peculiarities of the U.S. foreign policy at D.Trump administration, and security issues on the Korean Peninsula. The viability of Russia-Japan contacts at expert level was noted as important in the development of cooperation potential between the two countries. 

Timur Makhmutov, RIAC Deputy Director of Programs, and Kensuke Yoshida, Director of Political Affairs, Embassy of Japan to Russia, also took part in the meeting.
