The Nizhniy Novgorod State University and Urals State University, both RIAC corporate members, have become winners in the contest to join the government-sponsored project for improving competiveness of Russian universities. On July 10, RIA Novosti Press Agency plans a press conference on the outcomes of the contest for state support to leading Russian universities to improve their standing among the world's key research and educational centers.

The Nizhniy Novgorod State University and Urals State University, both RIAC corporate members, have become winners in the contest to join the government-sponsored project for improving competiveness of Russian universities.

The program covers 15 institutions of higher learning, among them Far Eastern Federal University, Kazan State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, National University of Science and Technology MISiS, Higher School of Economics, National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Novosibirsk State University, Samara State Aerospace University, St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University, St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University, St. Petersburg National Research University for IT, Mechanics and Optics, and Tomsk Polytechnic
Beginning from 2013, the participating institutions will receive subsidies for a total of nine billion rubles.
