Speaking before the Committee for the Future of the Finnish Parliament and its Chairman Päivi Lipponen, who is heading it since 2011, RIAC Program Director covered certain trends of Russia’s development, their influence on the country’s future and relations with key international partners. Most of all, the deputies were interested in the status of the Russian research base in the humanities, and its potential for forecasting and scenario-making.

Speaking before the Committee for the Future of the Finnish Parliament and its Chairman Päivi Lipponen, who is heading it since 2011, RIAC Program Director covered certain trends of Russia’s development, their influence on the country’s future and relations with key international partners. Most of all, the deputies were interested in the status of the Russian research base in the humanities, and its potential for forecasting and scenario-making.

Dr. Timofeev’s presentation was part of the Helsinki visit by a group of RIAC experts who attended the international conference “Russia and the World” co-organized by Aleksanteri Institute, RIAC, Bertelsmann Foundation and a number of other institutions.

Regularly issuing a series of publications “The World in 100 Years” since April 2012, RIAC has provided a platform to leading Russian analysts for predictions of international affairs development, military advances, technological innovations, social subsystems, etc., which are all accessible at the RIAC website.
