On July 28-29, 2015, the Nuclear Threat Initiative and the European Leadership Network held a meeting of experts aimed at discussing the setting up of the Euro-Atlantic Security Leadership Group. The event was organized in order to develop the proposals on new approaches to European security articulated in early 2015 by RIAC President Igor Ivanov, former U.S. Senator Sam Nunn and former British Defense Secretary Desmond Browne. The attendance included former top government leaders, diplomats and businessmen from Great Britain, France, Italy and other European countries. The Russian side was represented by RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov.
