On May 11, 2018, Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, met with Paulo Vizeu Pinheiro, the Ambassador of Portugal to Russia, and Fernanda Coelho, Deputy Head of Mission.

The following issues were discussed in the course of the meeting: the relations between Russia and the European Union against the backdrop of aggravating crisis in the Middle East, new U.S. decisions on sanctions against Russia, deepening of the contradictions between the U.S. and its European allies. Various aspects of Russian-Portuguese relations were also touched upon, including prospects for cooperation between think tanks and universities of the two countries.
