In a recent publication by Chicago-based non-profit and non-partisan institution Geostrategic and Geopolitical Studies Institute Despoina Boutselakou analyzes political situation in Egypt two years after the revolution and argues that revolutionary aspirations and hopes for better future of regular Egyptians are being threatened by Mohamed Morsi’s administration. In her opinion:

 

“Egyptian nation sought for freedom, blood was shed and it is highly possible that the country will result in a civil war with dramatic developments, if the administration will not take into consideration that when Egyptians started the revolution, they sought for better prospects and not for a worse Mubarak-style regime under Morsi’s presidency”

 


 

In another paper published by Geostrategic and Geopolitical Studies Institute Anne Bouleanu provides an overview of Islamic Feminism and examines the cases of Fatema Mernissi, Nawal El Saadawi, and Amina Wadud.

 

 

 

 


 

Recent publication of Hong Kong non-government and non-profit organization China-US Focus Su Xiaohui, Research Fellow, China Institute of International Studies, argues that China and Russia are not allying against the US and China is not seeking Russia’s support in its territorial disputes.

 

 

 


 

In the recent issue of “Other News” you will find an article by Paul Krugman, Professor of Economics and International Affairs at Princeton University and London School of Economics, Nobel laureate in Economics in 2008, gives his opinion Cyprus crisis and the problem of free movement of capital. According to Krugman: “Global capitalism is, arguably, on track to become substantially less global".

 

 


 

Other News” also publishes summary of an interview with another Nobel laureate in Economics, Joseph Stiglitz (Columbia University), in which prof. Stiglitz demonstrates approval of Shinzo Abe's (prime-minister of Japan) policy of strong-arming the Bank of Japan into adopting an aggressive monetary easing policy.
