Today I lost my mobile phone 7834946527 in Lucknow while returning from Lucknow University after giving a lecture to Journalism & Mass Communication Students . I feel proud to address the students from where I passed my M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication in 1999. I guess I lost my phone in a sharing auto rickshaw near Charbagh and after inquiring at autostand went to Naka Hindola Thana and tried to lodge an FIR which was later converted in to mere an application. The officer there told me that if I want to track my mobile I need to go to Hazratganj Thana, hence I took another autorickshaw and went to Ganj and walked two kilometers to reach Hazratganj Thana from market which have surveillance system in Cyber Crime division. I met one Inspector there and gave my business card of Journalist as I had done at Naka Hindola Thana. I was asked to meet another constable who asked me to go to a Cyber Cafe to file an online application on UP Police Portal which goes something like lostarticles.in and provide bill of phone and fill another form. I told him that my bill and box on which IEMIE number is given is at my residence in Delhi NCR and hence cannot provide and requested him to help me as I had a train later in the evening to Delhi. He showed his unavailability to help me and did not write any complain rather directed me and asked me to request to officers of Cyber Crime Team. I again came to office of Thana where two civilian looking boys were sitting and I hope they were not from Police Force as both of them were not wearing uniform in Thana premise and speaking in very unprofessional way to avoid their responsibilities. Finally they suggested me to file the application to Cyber Crime division of Delhi-NCR.An attempt to transfer thier responsibility to another jurisdiction which has nothing to do with my lost mobile. They told why I would tell that my mobile phone was lost in Lucknow,I could say it was lost in NCR. I Thanked Lucknow Police and Yogi Government's so called "Tight Police" for their "prompt action" in this case which deals with saved numbers and Extremely Confidential Messages of VIP people from Politics,Police,Defense from across the globe and can be misused.Point to be noted is that I carry two phones and have lost my Vivo phone while I have given my Samsung J-7 phone to my aged parents who are in my village for video call to all my family members who are distantly located and know their well being.
